Currently relishing life in the peaceful lanes of rural Herefordshire, rather than the fast lane of business enterprise, Helen Morris now has time to write her life story. Hers is a heartfelt story of true conversion – a metamorphic experience of healing, inspiration and new life in Jesus Christ, despite her own doubts, reluctance and abject circumstances.
After decades of running a creative design agency with husband Chris, raising golden retrievers and even restoring a classic Porsche, she now pours her energy into two things that matter most to her heart. One is Mother Hen Foundation**, the charity she and Chris founded to give support direct to persecuted Christians overseas, the other is writing honest words of inspiration to encourage those who may be carrying pain, confusion or unanswered questions.
Helen’s prayer is simple. That as you read “When The Bough Breaks”, you will recognise something of your own journey, feel less alone and discover that even in the darkest seasons, God has not let go of you.

about the book
When the Bough Breaks tells the remarkable life story of Helen, whose journey of rescue, faith, and healing shines through even after the deepest moments of brokenness.
Born in Bristol as the eldest of three daughters, Helen grew up in a lively, social household where her parents often placed their own pursuits above their children’s needs. Following in her father’s creative footsteps, she studied graphic design at the London College of Printing. Yet, just as her life seemed to be taking shape, a debilitating virus brought everything to a sudden halt.
During her time in hospital, Helen began reading the Gospel of Luke, intending to reject it. She could not imagine anything worse than becoming “religious”. But as she read, something unexpected happened. Through the gentle encouragement of a compassionate Christian doctor, the words of Scripture came alive — and Helen encountered Jesus in a deeply personal way.
